櫻井は、長年ヌード写真表現を追求してきた。これまでのヌーディズムの歴史の文脈から、ヌード写真の反体制的な特性を切り離して語ることは難しいだろう。その反動的なエネルギーは時に他者の思想と強く交わり、そのような特殊な状況が相互作用を引き起こし、想像を超越した非現実的な創造性を生み出す。櫻井は、パフォーマーの踊りのリズムに同調し、ファッションデザイナーが作った服のデザインに人の身体の輪郭を見出し、奇抜なアーティストの表現に触発されてきた。良質のコラボレーションには常々素敵な結末が待ち受けている。

Sakurai has been pursuing nude photographic expression for many years. In the context of the history of nudism up to now, it would be difficult to speak of the reactionary character of nude photography in isolation. Its reactionary energy is sometimes strongly intertwined with the ideas of others, and these particular circumstances cause an interaction that generates an unrealistic creativity that transcends the imagination. Sakurai has been inspired by the expressions of eccentric artists, tuning in to the rhythms of performers' dances and finding the contours of the human body in the designs of clothes made by fashion designers. A good collaboration always has a nice ending.
